Off-night screen commitments

I’d heard that Blowtorch had negotiated specific-screens-on-off-nights deals with exhibitors (that thye had secured a number of screens in target houses for monday or tuesday or something) which is similar to Michael Moore’s idea for docs, but this publicist’s dream in Fortune doesn’t specify.

Who else is pursuing that strategy? Is it a strategy that has been deployed in the past?

Michael Hirschorn has an interesting item in this month’s Atlantic about convergence in serial TV, “The Revolution Will Be Televised“.

He references Mark Cuban’s “the internet is dead and boring” bluster as per: The Internet Is still Dead and Boring and The Internet is Officially Dead & Boring – Its the economy stupid !
